Ups and Downs
Days like this are full of highs and lows! The morning class was difficult to manage and teach, but the afternoon class was amazing, and I was in the zone. After school, I called Wichita and made a Dr.'s appt. with a surgeon for my feet. Yippee! 37 years after first getting bunions, I'm going to get them fixed (and the brand-new hammertoes). So I was on a HIGH again. Then downtown to Northwestern for some borders and a crayon sharpener, and to Wal-Mart to exchange the chair cushions for our barstools. I did the job, found a printer cartridge I needed, and impulsively bought a $60.00 wall-mount for the preschool t.v. Chelsea called and wanted me to stop by for the boys' half-birthday and to see the preshool cupcakes, and while I was there, I got to thinking maybe my t.v. had a built-in wall-mount. My heart sank (a low) for all the money I'd spent! After I got home, I checked with Tom, and it did, so another trip to Wal-Mart was in order to get my money back. After I got home, I was so excited to try the cushions on the barstools (they worked!) and to put my cash away for our Phoenix trip. I started vacuuming to clean up from the Oscar party, and was excited about spending some time with Tom. He announced he was going to bed, and it was a very hard day for him. I was disappointed I'd spend another night alone. Alas, I'm "chilling" and getting with God to handle all my emotions and realize some days are just full of ups and downs, and that is O.K.!!! I am blessed. Better than blessed....thank you God that in the midst of life's everyday circumstances, YOU are always by our side, guiding us, experiencing the highs and lows with us, and strong where we are weak. God is good, and life is good.
